How to remove plastic taste from ice maker

Purchased a replacement fridge in July.  From day one the the ice from ice maker tastes like plastic.  After running about 30 batches of ice the ice cubes still tasted like plastic.  A new ice maker was installed under warranty.  Same problem with ice tasting like plastic from the new unit.   I put the unit out in the sun for a week with no result.  The water from the water dispenser tastes fine so I believe the problem is with the ice trays.  I have tried soap, baking soda and vinegar.  Nothing helps. Any advice regarding this problem.

Dump the first 30 batches of ICE from your ice maker. The issue WILL go away with time. Some ice makers do this and it is a known issue. You could try replacing some of the water line with copper line to see if that helps things. Also, replace the water line that goes to the ice maker in the fridge/freezer with a different brand. Some people report that they taste plastic from the ice maker for up to 2 months before it clears. Dump the ice until it clears the taste. Eventually it will go away.
