Can the inner tub itself in a newer Whirlpool cause balance issues? My washer vibrates and bangs around during spin cycle. I have a 16 month old Whirlpool washer (WTW4900BW0) that's vibrating and even banging around during the spin cycle. I had a local contractor come out and after not seeing ANY issues with springs, suspension, etc, diagnosed that the Inner Tub itself is the problem. He explained that in the new models the tub actually contains the balance ring (in older models this was a separate part that could be replaced.) That's an expensive part and I don't want to replace if that's not the problem. Since this model is so new, I can't find ANYTHING online referencing that problem/solution. Have you heard of this before? Is it possible that the inner tub can become "off balance" and need to be replaced?
