Washer completes wash but restarts another washing cycle automatically

When washing cycle is completed, it restarts another washing cycle automatically, how to fix it? Every time a washing cycle is completed, it then stops for 1 or 2 minutes and then restarts another complete washing cycle. Is there a way to fix it ? My machine is a top load whirlpool washing machine.
