Panasonic fully automatic washing machine 13kg top loading

My Panasonic fully automatic washing machine 13kg top loading is not working. When the power is switched on, only a small beep sound comes, then no lights or sound when control buttons are pressed and no rotation in the tub. The technicians are saying its PCB problem, but I don't believe them. I want to know if the capacitor or the lid switch is the issue or not. For that, I wish to be informed about what could be the signs that i can identify to tell if its the lid switch or capacitor causing the problem. So if any of you can point out to me what could be a clear pointer to each of the possibilities, I will appreciate it highly.
