My washer timer recently went out, but everything still worked, I just had to move it to the next cycle manually. It worked for a few weeks until recently, it filled up with water but then wouldn't spin, or drain. I was able to turn the knob to any cycle but it won't work and you can smell something burning, maybe a wire. Recently replaced timer on it. And it filled with water, but when I moved it to rinse cycle or spin cycle to drain the water it filled, nothing, you hear a noise like it's trying but nothing and then a burning smell came back. I don't know what else it could be.
