Kenmore Elite Front Load washer (Made by LG) will not spin towels. It will spin and complete cycle on other types of clothing. We can do any type of clothing, but not towels. It will begin to spin then stop and try to balance. I am noticing, however, suds on the towels even after I have rinsed them. I only used the recommended amount of approx 1 tablespoon of HE detergent. The pump filter is clean. We are using a new brand of detergent but my wife says this issue was happening with the old brand also. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The no spin with only towels may be caused by an imbalance in the washers sensor. You are either putting in too many towels or not enough. Is the washer taking longer to wash, the towels are wet when removed, washer pauses? Your washer is sensing the towels and most likely they are bunched up on one side and this causes the washer to not spin. Try rearranging the towels or add more or less to see if that can fix the issue.
Thanks for the reply. I’ve tried different load sizes. Even when it appears the load is balanced and it starts to ramp up the spin, it will stop and start over. Could the sensor be faulty?
Yes the sensor may be bad. If it only happens with large towels, it could just be a true imbalance issue. The only true way to see what may be the issue is to gain access to the sensor and test it to see if it is in working order.
