My control knob broke from the housing so I don't know the correct position. How do I replace the knob? Model # WED9200SQ0. Item # 1201433. Thank you.

If it is simply just the plastic knob, then the back of it has a flat side where it slides onto the shaft of the control. Meaning the only way it goes on is the correct way. (It can only be put on the correct way)
My dryer knob was hard to turn. After forcing it, it became loose. I bought a new panel, but felt it was the knob that broke. I took the panel back and got a new knob. Now, it won’t go on. I have the flat side lined up. I’ve tried somewhat gently hitting it with a rubber mallet. Still won’t go and comes off when I try to change the setting. Help please.
