I have a generator for my mini-fridge if we lose electricity. I've been told I can use a vacation timer to run it 15 minutes every hour and it will keep everything cold - as long as I'm not opening it often. I just wanted to know if this is true? Also, will it ruin the compressor or other parts to have it turn on and off like that every hour?
