GE washer not spinning when loaded with clothes

I have a GE top load washer (WDSR2080D5WW) that runs perfectly as long as I don't add clothes. But.... when clothes are added, it will do everything including agitate and drain, but it will not spin the excess water out in the spin cycle. Please any help would be appreciated.
