A GE fridge - gts18ibmbrcc - The evaporator is clear of ice after a defrost cycle but the drain pan and the two vents in the drain pan below the evaporator are solidly clogged with ice. I see an aluminum drain strap wire is inserted into the drain hole, but the Shepard's hook at the top of the drain strap wire isn't hanging on anything in order to conduct some defrost heat into the drain. This is a used refrigerator my friend bought, so I'm not sure what the Shepherd's hook is supposed to hang from. This model has a glass radiant defrost heater. Do I hang this heat-conducting wire on the glass radiant heater, or hang it on the bottom tube of the evaporator?
