Gas oven can take a long time to reach temp

I have a Tappan gas ovenmod: TGF355BHWF. With just the oven on and set to 350, it reaches temp in ten minutes, beeps and and the oven will shut off. If a burner is on and I turn the oven on to 350, it will take over 20 minutes to reach temp.Any suggestions?
