I live in the 2nd floor of a 7 story condo building and have an approximately 7 year old frigidaire stacked washer and dryer.
The washer drum is randomly filling with water when not in use.
It does NOT fill slowly after a cycle, sometimes it will go days without any water, sometimes it will fill in back to back days.
We can empty the washer by starting a cycle and the water appears to be soapy.
To compound this, about 3 weeks ago, while NOT using the washer (and hadn't for about 3 days) water was shooting out from the wall surrounding the water hookups.
Closing the valves stopped the water and we have not had a recurrence of that since.
1. Do i need to replace the water inlet valve in my washer? or
2. Is there a blockage in the main waste pipe of the building backing up into my washer?
