Fridge will not cool after being in storage

Whirlpool model GZ25FSRXYY2 was in storage standing upright. Everything turns on but the fan will not blow cold air.

From my experience, when placed in storage for a long period the gas tends to settle at the bottom, so I used to turn my fridge upside down for a day and after that when I turned it back around and switched it on, it worked as per normal cooling again.
