My friends dryer wont heat and dry the clothes unless she pulls the lint trap out. Do i just need to clean out her lint trap and hose and wall and dryer etc? I fix a lot of things, and this one seems to me that it would be that EVERYTHING probably needs to be vaccumed and brushed out. Since it does heat when the lint trap on top is pulled out, i thought clog seemed to be reasonable. I dont want her to have more lint going throughout the dryer since she drys with the trap pulled out and cause a fire.

There may be a large clump of lint where the lint trap or screen sits. The best thing to do here is unplug the dryer, remove the service panel, vacuum out all the lint you find inside the dryer. Next use a lint brush and clean the lint from the vent tube (hose) and from the vent outlet in the wall. Once all the lint is removed, test the machine with the lint trap installed and see what happens.
