I have a Whirlpool Duet dryer, GEW9250SU0, and for the past several months the heating element comes on all the time regardless of the heat setting. Even if it is air dry only, the element heats up to the point the dryer is overheating and you cannot touch the clothes. I have checked all of the recommended components that I can. The element has continuity and was removed to visualy inspect; all good. Thermostats, thermofuse, and the thermosis are all good and within range. The only other thing I can think of is the computer or control panel is bad, which I understand is no longer produced. The unit is 15-years old and not sure it is worth the effort to keep working on.
