I have a Kenmore Coldspot (Model 106.56532400) refrigerator from house's previous owner. It has an ice make and water dispenser and filter. The water line into the fridge sprung a leak and needs to be repaired. When I looked at I saw that the cracked plastic water line tubing was connecting the unit to the copper tube from the pipe. Plus there was no inlet valve as the plastic tube was connected directly to the filter. Is this normal or correct? All diagrams/videos show an inlet valve where the copper tube connects to first. Do I need to buy and install an inlet valve to correct this, or just replace the plastic tubing as it is?
