Dishwasher gasket metal retainer split away from wall

Hi - I have a 6yo Samsung dishwasher that was working fine until recently when the metal strip that holds the rubber gasket to the wall started splitting away at the bottom. The rubber gasket was working fine, but the metal strip is no longer holding it tight against the wall.Is this something that\'s covered under Samsung\'s lifetime warranty on tub and door seal? If it\'s not under warranty, is this something that can be repaired with a service call, or is it just better/safer to buy another dishwasher. Would probably not want to repair it if it\'s only going to last a year or two.
