How do I get to fridge to cool and the freezer to thaw?

Children left the refrigerator door cracked open all night.  There is a trail of water on the floor, the refrigerator won't cool, the freezer and all in it is iced over.  The unit doesn't make ANY noise even then I turn the settings up. What do I do?
