Spin cycle starts and stops

Spin cycle started to squeal and smell of rubber. I stopped using it. Ordered Maytag belt kit for washer. Put new belts in. No squealing but now spins for 10 seconds or so and stops. You hear the tub speed up to speed and then it stops and it sound like a timer is still going. Some rubber smell but not heavily like before. This is stacked unit and I would like to fix it.

It sounds as if the replacement belt may not be the one that was needed for your washer. Did the numbers on the old belt match exactly with the new belt? It is possible the new belt is longer, and once it gets up to speed it is unable to grip the pulleys therefore causes the washer to not spin.
