Our ice flap wasn't closing all the way, so I unplugged the fridge, took off the front facade, uncoupled the wires and moved the switch panel out of the way. The slot holding the right side of the spring axle was gone. I took a cable anchor and super glued it in there to make a new cradle for the pin. It works good enough. I don't think the delay works right anymore, but now the flap opens and shuts when you press for ice. I had tied it up good and let it sit for 24 hours to set. Meanwhile I plugged the fridge back in. I just put everything back together and the light ones on, water dispenses, but ice won't come out when I press down. Is it because the power was on to the fridge when I plugged everything back in? Does it have to do with that magnet not going all the way up its thing when you press down for ice? The round magnet in the delay housing.oh, it is a whirlpool for ikea side by side fridge
