Dishwasher water not getting hot enough – Not cleaning

I am at my wits end with this dishwasher problem.  Less than 2 months ago I bought a brand new Kitchenaid dishwasher after no one could figure out why my LG dishwasher wasn't cleaning.  The LG was bought new about 2 years ago and was nothing but trouble from the beginning.  After many repair people couldn't find anything wrong I gave in and bought the Kitchenaid.  Well after a month I'm having the SAME EXACT problem!!  The water does not get hot despite turning my hot water heater up.  The sink water is 130 degrees, dishwasher is hooked up to the hot water line, and the unit itself has a heater.  The water in dishwasher during a cycle only gets to 100 degrees max. There is major detergent residue and tiny food bits that never go away no matter how many times I run the dishwasher without adding any more detergent.  Ive tried many different types of detergent, rinse aid, and high temp wash.  What in the world is wrong with my house??  It is clearly not a problem with the dishwasher itself as I have now bought 2 high end units.  The house was an estate sale so I can't even ask the old owners.
