Diagnose a washer not spinning correctly

Hi, I have a whirlpool washer that is not spinning properly. It is an older model: LXR7244PT0 The agitator still works; wash cycle works/sounds fine. The tub still drains properly during spin cycle, but does not actually spin. I notice that the agitator moves, and the tub seems to just rock back and forth in place instead of spinning. I also notice a faint burning smell during the spin cycle. I have already checked the clutch brake, and the coupler. Both are working fine, and online those were the only two suggested parts to check...Any guidance would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance!!

There is also something else called the CLUTCH BAND. It is sold as a kit and If the washer won't spin, the clutch band kit might be worn out. It is designed to allow the tub to get up to the proper spin speed gradually. As the clutch wears out it may prevent the tub from spinning. If the washer won't spin, this clutch band kit may need to be replaced.

You have checked the lid switch to be sure it is working properly correct? It does not sound like your issue but could be part of it as this is the most likely NO SPIN reason for top loading machines.
